The exchange programme that was launched last Saturday marks the two countries’ twenty years of Diplomatic Relations. At the workshop, students and their art teachers who were also there to accompany them, Cikgu Noorafizahwati bt Hj Ladi and Cikgu Hjh Mariatul Nadirah Bt Hj Osmar had the opportunity to study some of the Russian art work showcased at the Mini Gallery and listen to a presentation by a Russian artist. They were also given a brief workshop on making a collage of Kampong Ayer using cut and paste technique. The end result was a spectacular masterpiece tapestry by SMAS’s own students. Art is a subject offered at SMAS and this year some 67 students are sitting for the O Level Art examination. SMAS students consist of mostly Kampung Ayer residents.
